SchoolBee

Privacy Policy

Welcome to SchoolBee! The SchoolBee website and service are provided by SchoolBee, LLC. (“SchoolBee”, “we” “us” or “our”). At SchoolBee, we respect and protect your privacy and the privacy of your school community and the privacy of your Parent Teacher Groups (“PTG”).

This Privacy Policy provides details about how your personal information is collected and used for the schoolbee.com web site (the “Website”) and, when available, a related SchoolBee mobile device application. SchoolBee provides electronic delivery of student directories via the internet to subscribers via computers and mobile devices connected to the Internet. Access to the Website is provided pursuant to the Terms of Service accessible at our web site.

Information Collection and Use
SchoolBee works with PTG administrators or a school’s technology departments (“Registering Member”) to make a directory electronically accessible on the Website (“Directory”). The Registering Member provides the Directory containing information about students, parents and alumni (each a “Directory Member”) from your school. Directory information (“Directory Data”) may include the Directory Member’s name, grade year or graduation year, current teachers name, phone, e-mail address, and postal mailing address and the status of whether a parent has paid PTG dues as provided by the Registering Member, among other factors. For information regarding your student’s access and information please see the section on Minors and Safety below.

Access to a Directory on SchoolBee is by invitation only
A Directory will become electronically accessible to you if you are a listed member of that Directory and your Registering Member registers your school’s directory with SchoolBee. Upon registration, you will receive an automated e-mail invitation from SchoolBee at the e-mail address you provided to your Registering Member. You may then register personally as a member of the Directory. Upon receipt of the automated email you will have the option to opt-out of the Directory. Only listed members of the Directory, teachers and administrators at the applicable school, and other persons authorized by the Registering Member will be permitted to access that Directory.

In addition to the Directory Data, SchoolBee may also collect certain information from you as described below.

Registration Information
We collect personal information you knowingly choose to submit to us during registration, such as your name, email address, and age, to authenticate users, send notifications to users relating to the SchoolBee services, to manage each user’s account and to facilitate our compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

We also collect user profile data, including but not limited to, gender, age, and physical location coordinates in order to assist users in locating and communicating with each other and identifying common interests among users. We do not share your profile with other third parties.

You participate in these areas with the acknowledgement that any information you disclose becomes public information, including any personally identifiable information. Please review the guidelines for any of these areas when posting comments for terms and conditions and other specific information. You may post user Content on the Service at your own risk. Although we offer privacy setting options to limit access to your Directory, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot control the actions of other users with whom you choose to share your pages or information. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee that your Content will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. Even after removal, copies of User Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other users have copied or stored your user Content.
